In 2003, ground was broken on the final phase of Green Valley Ranch – The District at Green Valley Ranch. The District is designed to enhance the community’s retail/urban center with movie theaters, restaurants and an office complex. Also located in the community center are the Green Valley Ranch Resort, Casino and Spa. The District is conveniently located across the street from the heart of Green Valley Ranch, which contains a library, a recreation and aquatic center, and the Pavilion, a 7,500-seat performing arts center.

Green Valley Ranch is known for its outstanding recreational facilities. In addition to the recreation and aquatic center, residents enjoy access to more than five miles of walking trails, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, parks, and tennis and basketball courts.

Areas outside of the community offer many recreational opportunities as well. Henderson Parks and Recreation has been named one of the most progressive parks and recreation systems in the country, because of the extensive services it offers. Henderson operates several community swimming pools and sports complexes with baseball, volleyball, basketball and tennis facilities. There are also several golf courses in the surrounding areas. Other recreation destinations include: Lake Mead Recreational Area, the Colorado River, and Mount Charleston. Among these choices, one can find the opportunity to indulge in a variety of outdoor activities, including boating, hiking, water skiing and other water sports.

For nightlife venues, luxury restaurants, art exhibits and shows, Green Valley Ranch residents and visitors can drive 10 minutes into the heart of Las Vegas. The famous Las Vegas Strip offers nearly every kind of entertainment imaginable to its visitors.

Higher education options nearby include The Art Institute of Las Vegas, ITT Tech and the University of Las Vegas. The Art Institute and ITT Tech are both located within Henderson, and the University of Las Vegas is just a short drive away.
